Reuse sections across pages

What is shared

Reusing a section adds another page placement for the same Section record; it does not create a copy.

Editing the section or any of its child rows updates every page where that section is used.

What each page controls

Every page-section placement stores its own order. Dragging the section on one page changes only that page’s placement and does not move it on other pages.

Add or remove placements

• From a page’s Sections screen, choose New section, then Reuse existing section.
• From an existing section’s edit form, open Page placements to add or remove pages.
• Removing a section from one page preserves the section and its other placements.
• Deleting the final placement deletes the section and its child rows.

Related but different

• Duplicate creates an independent section copy whose content can diverge.
• Page Shells provide shared rendered structure and document settings to a family of pages.
• Page tags organize deployed pages in their destination but do not control reuse or rendering.
• Publishing to the library makes a component publicly reusable; it is separate from placing one section on several pages.
• Rows belong to one section and cannot currently be placed independently in several sections.
